Seeing Eye Drone

 

 

 

Reporting Obstacles

 

 

Drone based Computer Vision system using 2D and 3D vision mounted on a consummer /hobby level drone is being investigated for use as an assistant to the visually impaired. Much like a seeing eye dog, the Seeing Eye Drone will help the user with mobility but, unlike a dog ithe Seeing Eye Drone can report to the user not only that an obstacle exists but, what the obstacle is. Deep Learning is applied to the task of User detection and heading calculation as well as object detection. A mobile applicaiton platform is developed which processes and recieves data from the Seeing Eye Drone.
