System Requirements for iOS development

These are the requirements for iOS development ....Please see developer.apple.com for the latest requirements.


However, this gives you a general idea.

System Requirments (SEE developer.apple.com for latest)

• Mac hardware
• Mac OS Sierra beta 3 or later or OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 or later.(SEE develeoper.apple.com for latest requirements)
• iTunes Software installed
• Safari (optional)
• At least 9.0 GB of free disk space
• Local administrator rights
• USB port (optional)
• Xcode Latest (8.2.* or whatever)

Update Mac OS

iOS SDK requires a certain version of Mac OS (see above and developer website for latest). Update this if necessary

iTunes

Install from apple.com or update to latest version if you have it (launch iTunes and go to menu option iTunes > Check for Updates....)

iOS SDK

• register to get Apple ID and password at http://apple.com
• register to be developer at http://developer.apple.com
• download (latest) iOS SDK at https://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/index.actione (or search for it at develoepr.apple.com)
• by default installed in directory named Developer in your Mach HD
• you can install multiple versions if desired.

developer Program or University Program

• to be able to test on real devices (beyond simulation) you have to be come a member of the developer program $99/year (or whatever) or have access through University Apple program.
• Only can launch real applications for sale I believe under full for cost developer program.
• University Program: I am the main technical contact.
